The Five Planning Challenges for FTTx and How to Overcome Them 10-10:45 a.m
FTTx is much more complicated and costly for carriers than their marketing and advertising departments would have us believe. Recent research indicates that laying fiber optic cable can cost anywhere between $10,000 and $70,000 per mile. Still, carriers large and small are making significant investments to extend their fiber footprints. To compete effectively today, marketing and network plans must integrate in real time to meet business and customer demands. This is where integrated network planning comes in. By providing a comprehensive, systemic approach to planning new services, the risks of new fiber deployments are lessened and greater alignment between demand and services can be obtained. Learn how to demystify FTTx architecture choices and approaches.

Speaker: Mike Devlin, Vice President, Business Development, VPIsystems
