SK C&C Touts NVIOS Billing Solution

SK C&C, a Korean IT services firm, is showing off its billing Solution, NVIOS, at the B/OSS Conference & Expo this week in Las Vegas.

Until now, there’s been no solution or system in the billing industry that covers 23 million subscribers in a single cycle, according to SK. NVIOS (Next Vision of Integrated Business/Operation support system) brings to the telecommunication/media operators high performance and scalability features.

NVIOS is an end-to-end BSS/OSS offering suite developed by SKC&C based on its know-how gained from years of experience in telecommunications/media. Following the global business standards defined by eTOM and the telco-oriented IT trend, NVIOS brings an approach to support business challenges, and with a vision to expand business to offer next generation services.

The NVIOS platform supports a variety of flexibility management features and support tools on top of the framework based on the latest J2EE and SOA. Based on these features, operation modules were organized to ensure flexibility and expandability. The flexibility domain manages the repository and business rule from the business process perspective to minimize source modification.

Supporting Tool allows package quality improvement guarantee through the scheduler and test automation for the management of heterogeneous system convergence and batch operations. It also allows consistent code implementation through code generation in the development environment.

One of the goals of NVIOS is to provide customers with new opportunities by supporting the next generation networks and quick convergence of multiple services such as wireless/fixed/WiMax/S-DMB, etc.

Through this, SK C&C says its clients are able to reduce the cost during system development and maintenance as well as be able to roll out new services at the right time. They may also increase the overall efficiency of their operation through the use of various supporting tools and flexibility functions

Based on the experience of system development in wireless, WiMAX and DMB domains, multiple services can be provided through a single NVIOS system. Also, it can provide Pre/Post-Paid Convergence and it is planned to support not only wireless but wireline as well. These various convergence experiences will work well for the VM’s integration needs (pre+post), according to the company.
